Health Services

Health services are available in order to improve and conserve the current state of a person’s health. There are health services that are available to treat both the physical health, as well as the mental health of an individual. A health service is equipped with medical professionals, as well as technology. These tools help the different health service divisions offer a patient the care and attention that they need. Health services are in place on both a federal, as well as a professional level. The federal division of heath services is called the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services if broken down to Human Services and the Public Health Service Operating Divisions and the Public Health Service Operating Divisions. The Public Health Service Operating Divisions are the health services to which the average person is most familiar with.

One of the health services of the Public Health Service Operating Division is the National Institutes of Health. This is the health service that conducts major research for disease. The National Institutes of Health is a health service that has conducted major research for cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and AIDS. Another one of the health services that is a part of the Public Health Service Operating Division is the Food and Drug Administration. This is another one of the health services that affects the nation in a major way. It is responsible for monitoring the safety of food, pharmaceutical drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, and biological products.

Health services also has a large division called the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration that works to improve the state of substance abuse prevention and treatment. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration also assists with mental health patients all over the country. This Administration has been put in place in order to monitor the prevalence, as well as the treatment methods for those that are mentally ill. The other divisions include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the Indian Health Service, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research.
